Scottie Howell

2019-Present

Scottie Howell (Delta Lambda, ’06) is a native of Cape San Blas, Florida. After serving in the United States Air Force, he completed his studies at Florida State University, graduating in 1995. He was a member of the Pike Colony in 1993-94. He served in various positions in the Florida House of Representatives for 12 years, most recently as Director of Open Government, and two years as Associate Director for Congressional Actions for the Department of Homeland Security. He is now the Vice President for Internal & External Affairs for the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Scottie and his wife, Lisa, have one son, Corbett (7).

John Peacock

John Peacock (Delta, 01′) born and raised in Tallahassee, FL.  A member of Florida State Football team from 2000 – 2004.  John played one season of professional football in the Arena League in 2008 before turning to a career in the insurance industry.   John will celebrate 13 years as an insurance professional in August where he has started two insurance agencies.  He has served in various non-profit organizations over the past 10 years.  John served as President of Capital City Rotary Club of Tallahassee in 2010.   He will be going to Cuba this summer for a Mission Trip with his Church.  John is loyal PiKA and a die-hard Seminole fan.

  • Flew 4,300 accident free hours in the F-16, A-10, F-4F, F-14, F-18, Mig 21, Mig-29, T-37, and T-38 jet aircraft
  • Selected as one of six F-16 pilots for flight testing against the F-22 during congressional appropriations tests
  • Wing Chief of Safety for all facets of the Flight, Weapons, and Ground Safety program in charge of over 2000 military and civilian employees, and 24 F-16 aircraft valued in excess of $500 million dollars

  • Trained 90 Taiwan F-16 pilots in all facets of USAF Foreign Military Sales Program Flight/Academic training
  • Graduated from the USAF Flight/Academic Instructor Course; Selected as Company Grade Officer of the Year
  • Deployed as an A-10 pilot to Saudi Arabia flying combat missions during the Persian Gulf War
  • Chosen by Lt. General Ryan as the command representative for a TDY Bulgarian Mig-29 exchange program
  • Flew over 60 Combat Missions in support of Operations Deliberate Force, Deny Flight, and Decisive Endeavor helping enforce United Nations Resolutions and bringing peace to war-torn Bosnia-Herzegovina
  • Selected 5 years ahead of peer group for the Air Liaison Officer position to the 7th Army Training Command Staff, Grafenwoehr Germany. Managed a $5 million dollar budget and controlled all joint live fire exercises

  • Awarded the Air Force Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters for valor demonstrated during Aerial Combat in Desert Storm, Op Deliberate Force in Bosnia, and Op Iraqi Freedom (1991/1995/2005, 2009, 2010)
  • Earned State of Florida General Contractors License; incorporated as Florida Home Construction (2002)
  • Squadron Officers School; received the outstanding writing award (1995)
  • Graduated Top of Class; A-10 Undergraduate Pilot Training (1990) and F-16 Transition Pilot Training (1994)

Licensed Stockbroker.  Specialized in commodities options trading, Obtained Series 7, Series 3, and Series 63 brokerage licenses on first testing attempt.

The “guiding light” of Delta Lambda Chapter, Pi Kappa Alpha.  Charlie Barnes means more to PiKA and more to Delta Lambda than words could ever express.  He is our heart, our soul and our spirit. He built what was and what is, the greatest fraternity chapter in America.  He levels us in times of success and lifts us in challenging times.  He is our living history as well as our historian.
